Are you watching the World Cup?

As Lily continues to grow older, I am constantly amazed at how good God is. Not only has He given a gift so extravagant to my family, but it also helps me reflect on His character. Where I can be frustrated or impatient with Lily, whether I want her to eat solids (she just loves milk too much!) or to sleep through the night, I can’t help but imagine God having greater hopes and plans for me (because I already eat solids and sleep through the night). But being broken and sinful, I want selfish things or have rebellious thoughts. And yet, His nature is to love, to be patient and kind. What an amazing God we serve! How have you seen God’s perfect love and abounding grace for you or your family lately?

This is one of the only pictures I took this year at SICM. This is our first evening in Seattle at our hotel’s breakfast nook. Every year, I’m astounded at the profound growth and transformation of our students while they are at SICM and am so thankful to be a part of God’s plan for them.

This is (almost) our entire group at May SICM! Including June SICM (which is happening right now!), we flew over 200 people to Washington. Praise God for students and young adults who are passionate about the Lord and are pursuing a life that looks more like Him.

Graduation is always bittersweet. While there is much joy in the completion of what they have been working towards and excitement of what could be, there is also the transition from what they knew into something unknown. While they had structure in weekly fellowship meetings and the friendships and relationships they had as a student, it will look completely different now that they are graduated. Our hope and prayer is that their time in FOCUS has prepared them to be disciples in every season, whether they stay near or move far, and that they can be a light and resource for the Church wherever their journey leads them.

While school is out, Summer FOCUS kicks in! Every Thursday from 7:30-9:00 PM at CARE Church in Richardson, students from all of our campuses that are still in the area can come and worship together. If you’ve never attended or haven’t in a while, I would recommend checking it out! And if you know of any college-aged students who are back in the DFW area for the summer and would be blessed by visiting, please feel free to forward my information to them so we can get connected!

When I returned from SICM, I discovered a litter of 4 kittens living in our backyard. Steph and I have taken to caring for them, buying cat food and a litter box. If you know of anyone who is looking to own cats, let me know. :-)
